broadbandgan jau ka būsiet pamanījuši n-tajos mac ziņu/baumu port?los info par to, ka apple pied?v? nosūkt broadband tuning progiju… te lūk info, te pati instal?cija… instal?cija patiesīb? vienk?rši pamaina dažus sistēmas defaulta uzst?dījumus, piel?gojot tos lieliem, ?triem k?beļiem – pateicoties tam lielie, ?trie k?beļi spēs darboties vēl ?tr?k…

ta?u pirms instalēt to cerīb?, ka nu tik būs ?trais internets, padom?jiet vēlreiz vai jums patieš?m ir broadband pieslēgums – u know, tiešais optiskais k?belis ar kremli vai ķipa t?…

bet nu – var jau arī pamēģin?t… nekas traks nevar notikt, un instal?cijai līdzi n?k arī atinstalēt?js/noinstalēt?js/laika mašīna… ja noriskēj?t, pliiiz padalieties ar rezult?tiem, iespaidiem…

    mmmm, noteikti noprovēšu. Es tik nezinu kas un k? ir sakonfigurēts starp kompi un optisko galu, tur vis?das ierīces atrodas – firewall, switch, router… Nu redzēs vai tas pas?kums aizlidos vai nē :)

    vispaabaa jau tas ir high-latency savienojumiem … kjipa ar satteliitu un tadaa garaa … bet daudzi dsl lietotaaji ari apgalvo, ka esot juutami rezultaati … galvenais jau ticeet :)

    Uzliku. Neform?lie aprēķini r?da, ka to dažu lapu, ko es p?rbaudīju pirms un pēc uzlikšanas, iel?des ?trumi ir samazin?jušies par procentiem 40. Tagad gaidīšu kliedzienu no admina puses :)

    Apple have their own “tweaker” too called Broadband Tuner and it’s free. The installer puts a file called “sysctl.conf” into the /etc/ folder for the system to read when it boots. Here’s it’s contents:

    net.inet.tcp.recvspace=358400

    And now my personal “tweaked” version:

    net.inet.tcp.sendspace=131072
    net.inet.tcp.recvspace=358400
    net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack: 0
    net.inet.udp.recvspace=73728

    I added these settings to help with FPS games and other UDP app, like video conferencing and file sharing programs. Others can do the same by doing the following a a Terminal:
    # sudo pico /etc/sysctl.conf
    It’ll ask for your admin password then let you edit the file as any text editor. Use control-O to save and control-X to exit. Reboot and you’re away!

    I have since found this to be the best way to get better speeds yet. I had to remove any other third party settings first to take full effect, which I suggest to anyone else trying this. i.e. remove third parties apps “Network Optimizers” BEFORE installing the Apple one and make the changes there after. Always reboot in between installs too!!
